We sequenced eight phylogenetically diverse freshwater isolates to expand diversity of existing genomic context for future studies on the ecology and genetics of freshwater bacteria. Comparison of genomic characteristics of these isolates to the only two previously sequenced freshwater bacterial genomes (Polynucleobacter necessarius ssp. Asymbioticus and Actinobacteria AcI-B1) reveals organisms exemplifying a range of lifestyle characteristics differing in growth rate, environmental response capability, and diversity of useable carbon substrates.

本研究对8株系统发育多样性各异的淡水分离株开展测序，以丰富现有基因组背景的多样性，为后续淡水细菌生态学与遗传学研究提供支撑。将这些分离株的基因组特征与此前仅完成测序的两株淡水细菌基因组——嗜酸多核杆菌非共生亚种（Polynucleobacter necessarius ssp. Asymbioticus）以及放线菌门AcI-B1株——进行比较后发现，供试菌株展现出一系列差异化的生活方式特征，涵盖生长速率、环境响应能力以及可利用碳底物多样性等多个维度的差异。
