The study of 50 samples of Asclepias syrica was observed through a continuous measurement in centimeters along a transect tape. Research was conducted at the York University Arboretum grasslands on Wednesday, September 21st 2015. The study looked into the concentration of Asclepias syrica in areas of growth, along with the ordinal measurements of how many leaves and flowers each individual unit had. Study location in the grasslands was randomized by walking 20 meters forward from the outskirts of the area, placing a transect tape on the ground and running the tape until at least 50 samples of the species being observed were within one meter of the tape on either side. Looking at the data, there is no correlation between plant density and number of leaves and flowers on the plant. Leave and flower numbers appear to be random, with both many and few numbers of leaves and flowers appearing in areas of high and low density.
