The use of computer-aided and web-based educational technologies such as Virtual Learning Environments (VLE) has increased significantly in the recent past. One example of such a VLE is Virtual Interactive Engineering on the Web (VIEW). VIEW is a 3D virtual, interactive, student centered, framework of web-based modules based on the Extensible 3D standard. These modules are dedicated to the improvement of student success and learning. In this paper, an overview of the recent developments in VIEW along with associated assessment results is presented. An experimental study was also performed to compare the learning experience and performance of students in a physical dissection activity vs. that in a virtual dissection activity using a VIEW module.
近年来,计算机辅助与基于网络的教育技术(如虚拟学习环境(Virtual Learning Environments, VLE))的应用显著增长。此类虚拟学习环境的典型代表之一为网络虚拟交互工程(Virtual Interactive Engineering on the Web, VIEW)。VIEW是一套基于可扩展3D(Extensible 3D)标准构建的、以学生为中心的3D虚拟交互式网络教学模块框架,该系列模块致力于提升学生的学业成功率与学习效果。本文综述了VIEW近年来的发展进展,并介绍了相关评估结果。此外,本研究还开展了一项对照实验,对比学生参与实体解剖活动与使用VIEW模块开展虚拟解剖活动的学习体验及学习表现。
