This research is meant to assist FSU Libraries in better understanding the publishing needs of FSU faculty members serving on editorial boards for monographic series and journal publications. This data was collected via a 16-question survey instrument, distributed to a non-representative subset of FSU faculty in late 2017/early 2018 (n = 515), to gauge both specific publishing needs and general attitudes towards the current and future state of the scholarly communication field. Results show faculty editors' opinions on what services and functionalities participants most require in publishers and publishing platforms, their levels of satisfaction with current publishing services they participate in, and their knowledge of and willingness to engage in alternative publishing practices outside the scope of traditional commercial publishing models. This research was approved by FSU IRB under HSC No. 2017.22581.
