Bacteriophage ESa2 was isolated from isolated from the Rock Creek in Montgomery County, Maryland, USA using a methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus strain MRSN8383 for phage enrichment. ESa2 was able to lyse ~40% of diverse clinical isolates of S. aureus from military patients, 102 of which were MRSA (methicillin-resistant S. aureus), but had higher lytic activity than a previously isolated broad-host range phage ESa1 (PRJNA632562).
噬菌体ESa2(Bacteriophage ESa2)从美国马里兰州蒙哥马利县罗克克里克中分离得到,分离富集过程以甲氧西林敏感金黄色葡萄球菌 (methicillin-susceptible Staphylococcus aureus) 菌株MRSN8383作为宿主开展噬菌体富集实验。ESa2可裂解约40%的军队患者来源的多种临床金黄色葡萄球菌分离株,其中102株为耐甲氧西林金黄色葡萄球菌(MRSA,methicillin-resistant S. aureus);且其裂解活性优于此前分离获得的宽宿主谱噬菌体(broad-host range phage)ESa1(PRJNA632562)。
