Daily Canadian Snow Inland Ice Cover Synthesis Maps

This dataset corresponds to a next day map of snow and ice over Canada and its surrounding territories. The map is produced by blending three already validation snow and ice cover maps provided by NOAA, NASA and Natural Resources Canada. These maps have already been individually shown to have similar agreement with 500m resolution MODIS snow cover daily composite is mapped. However, NOAA 4km resolution maps are used to fill gaps due to the presence of clouds within that composite.

本数据集对应加拿大及其周边区域的次日雪冰覆盖图。该合成产品通过融合三份经验证的雪冰覆盖图生成，这三份图像分别由美国国家海洋和大气管理局（NOAA）、美国国家航空航天局（NASA）以及加拿大自然资源部提供。此前已有研究证实，这三份单幅图像各自与500米分辨率的中分辨率成像光谱仪（MODIS）每日雪冰合成产品均具有相近的吻合度。不过，本合成产品会利用美国国家海洋和大气管理局提供的4公里分辨率雪冰图，填补该MODIS合成产品因云层覆盖产生的数据空白。
