Aeropyrum pernix strain K1. This organism, which was the first strictly aerobic hyperthermophilic archaeon sequenced, was isolated from a coastal solfataric (volcanic hydrothermal area that gives off sulfuric gases) thermal vent at Kodakara-Jima Island, Japan in 1993.

完美嗜热古菌（Aeropyrum pernix）K1菌株。该物种是首个完成基因组测序的严格好氧超嗜热古菌，于1993年从日本Kodakara-Jima岛的沿海硫质喷气孔（即释放含硫气体的火山热液区域）热液喷口分离得到。
