National Coral Reef Monitoring Program: Carbonate Budget data of the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary from 2015-06-01 to 2015-06-05 (NCEI Accession 0159174)

This data set includes census based carbonate budget data that was collected in coral reef habitats located within the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary (FGBNMS). Surveys (based on Perry et al 2012) were collected over one week aboard the R/V Manta at the East Flower Garden Bank Mooring Buoy 3. Six transect surveys (10m each) were conducted to quantify benthic cover, macrobioerosion, and microbioerosion. Ten parrotfish surveys were also conducted to account for parrotfish erosion rates. This carbonate budget data along with other sea water chemistry data collected were used to establish a Class III monitoring site in the FGBNMS region.

本数据集包含基于普查的碳酸盐收支数据，采集自花丘国家海洋保护区（Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, FGBNMS）所辖的珊瑚礁生境。本次调查参照Perry等（2012）的方法开展，于东花丘系泊浮标3号海域搭乘曼塔号科研考察船（R/V Manta）完成了为期一周的数据采集工作。共开展6条样带调查（单条样带长度为10米），用以量化底栖生物覆盖度、大型生物侵蚀与微型生物侵蚀程度。另开展10次鹦嘴鱼调查，以核算鹦嘴鱼的生物侵蚀速率。上述碳酸盐收支数据与同步采集的海水化学数据，被用于建立花丘国家海洋保护区区域内的三级（Class III）监测站点。
