This paper is based on the medicinal plants used for treating body pain by the tribals in Mahoba district.There are no more tribal communities but some Saharia, Gonds and Kol are found in some areas of district. Besides these tribes , district is also visited periodically by Kanjad, Kuchbandhiya, Kanfara, Parkola and Jasaundhi.The primitive tribals acquired the knowledge ofeconomic and medicinal properties of many plants bytrial and error methods and they are the store house ofsuch knowledge. This accumulated knowledge ispassed on from one generation to the other by oraltradition without any written document. The life andculture of the tribals in the district is fast changingdue to the developmental activities initiated byGovernment and non-Government agencies. In viewof this study was undertaken to document theirvaluable information about the plants. Medicinalplants play a key role in the daily life of the tribals and periodically visitors as Kanjad, Kuchbandhiya, Kanfara, Parkola and Jasaundhiin the district.
本研究以马霍巴(Mahoba)区部落人群用于治疗身体疼痛的药用植物为核心研究对象。目前该区已无完整的原生部落社群,仅在部分区域可见萨哈里亚(Saharia)、贡德(Gonds)与科尔(Kol)族。除此之外,坎贾德(Kanjad)、库奇班迪亚(Kuchbandhiya)、坎法拉(Kanfara)、帕克奥拉(Parkola)以及贾桑迪(Jasaundhi)族群会定期到访该区。这些原始部落人群通过反复试错的实践方法,掌握了诸多植物的经济与药用特性相关知识,堪称这类本土知识的宝贵宝库。这类累积的知识通过口传传统代代相传,未留下任何书面记载。受政府与非政府机构发起的发展活动影响,该区部落人群的生活与文化正快速变迁。有鉴于此,本研究开展相关调研工作,旨在记录他们关于药用植物的珍贵传统知识。药用植物在该区部落人群以及定期到访的上述族群的日常生活中均发挥着关键作用。
