Precipitation Dataset of the Belt and Road Region (2000–2020)

This is a daily total precipitation (mm/day) with a spatial resolution of 0.05° from March 2000 to December 2020. The spatial coverage is 180°W – 180°E, 50°S – 50°N. The precipitation dataset was created using a newly developed downscaling algorithm based on TRMM-3B42 and globally merged (60°S–60°N) 4-km pixel-resolution IR brightness temperature data from NOAA Climate Prediction Center. The spatial resolution of TRMM-3B42 was increased from 0.25° to 0.05°. The daily total precipitation was calculated from the downscaled 3-hourly TRMM-3B42. As the TRMM-3B42 stopped update at the end of 2019, the precipitation from GPM-IMERG in the year 2020 was downscaled using the same method to fill the missing data in 2020.

本数据集为2000年3月至2020年12月期间的每日总降水量数据（单位：毫米/天），空间分辨率达0.05°。空间覆盖范围为180°W–180°E、50°S–50°N。该数据集基于TRMM-3B42产品，结合美国国家海洋和大气管理局（NOAA）气候预测中心提供的全球融合（60°S–60°N）4千米像素分辨率红外亮温数据，通过新开发的降尺度算法生成。TRMM-3B42的空间分辨率由0.25°提升至0.05°，每日总降水量通过对降尺度处理后的3小时TRMM-3B42数据计算得出。鉴于TRMM-3B42于2019年底停止更新，2020年的数据采用相同方法对全球降水测量计划集成多卫星反演降水数据（GPM-IMERG）进行降尺度处理，以填补该年度的数据空缺。
