本数据集包含九类不同坡地各自对应的沟道-山脊（Channel-to-ridgeline）方向上坡、下坡样带的中生植物（mesic plant）耐受曲线（详见图2）。其中，土壤湿度通过三种方式近似表征：以从沟道（湿润端）至山脊（干旱端）的距离、沟道归一化距离，或是针对以土蠕动（creep）主导和地表径流（overland flow）主导的景观所采用的地形指数（topographic index）。
