The data was collected in Norway in 2021 and 2022 to study the effects of cattle and cervids on plants and flower-visiting insects in young spruce plantations. We compared data from inside to outside the grazing area.
The plot key file containes data on our sampling plots, such as plotID, coordinates, study area, graing area (inside/outside), fenced (yes/no) and forest productivity ("bonitet").
The sward data files contain sward height of graminoids, herbs and woody plants in the field layer vegetation.
The plant data files contain plant abundance on species level of graminoids, herbs and woody plants in the field layer vegetation.
The flower data files contain flower abundance on species level of herbs and woody plants in the field layer vegetation.
The flower visitors data file contains abundance of bumblebees, hoverflies, other flies, butterflies, honeybees, solitary bees and other insects.
The bumblebee and hoverfly data files contain species identifications of all caught bumblebees and hoverflies.
In the sward height script we modelled sward height in relation to fencing (fenced/unfenced) and grazing area (inside/ outside).
In the plant abundance script we modelled the abundance of graminoids, herbs and woody plants in the field layer vegetation in relation to fencing (fenced/unfenced) and grazing area (inside/ outside).
