Parkes observations for project P1388 semester 2025OCTS_01

We propose 12 hours of Murriyang pulsar search mode observations to follow up two intriguing new short-timescale radio transient sources discovered in ASKAP Guest Science Projects. These sources are of unknown origin, but may be radio pulsars, or another exotic source class. These high time resolution observations will either be used to detect periodic pulsations, faint, short-timescale variability, or place meaningful limits on the short-timescale variability of these sources.

我们提议开展12小时的Murriyang脉冲星搜索模式观测，以跟进ASKAP客座科学项目中发现的两个引人关注的新型短时标射电暂现源（short-timescale radio transient sources）。这些源的起源尚不明确，但可能是射电脉冲星（radio pulsars），或是其他奇异源类别。此类高时间分辨率观测（high time resolution observations）可用于检测周期性脉动（periodic pulsations）、微弱的短时标变异性，或对这些源的短时标变异性设定有意义的限制。
