Metastasis and recurrence are the major causes of poor outcome in gastric cancer (GC). We showed that ANKRD6 expression is associated with a poorer prognosis in 10 independent GC cohorts and with metastatic states and processes. Here, by transcriptomic profiling we have characterized the effect of ANKRD6 silencing in vitro and found that cells with ANKRD6 downregulation display an impairment in key metastatic processes such as the Epithelial-mesenchymal transition. Overall design: The experiment was performed in MKN45 cells expressing shANKRD6 and the control plasmids after lentiviral infection on four independent replicates. After QC, one pair of samples (inf III) was dropped off from the analysis.
