This collection comprises images, site records and a report from a Historic Building Recording at Hillside Primary School, Beeston Road, Beeston, West Yorkshire, prior to its conversion to offices. Works were undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group during November and December 2007. The principle objectives of the project were to determine the character, date, extent, quality and significance of the historical and archaeological form of the building taking particular not of specialised functions and arrangements. The historic building recording involved a full written and medium format photographic record. The work was undertaken in two separate stages, before and after the removal of the modern suspended ceilings. Hillside Primary School was built between 1872 and 1880 in a classical style by Richard L Adams, architect to the Leeds School Board. It was extended in 1894 and has remained in use as a school into the present day. The building has been highly modernised internally but nevertheless retains many of its historical features, most notably two coffered ceilings to the central first floor classrooms.
