Data from: Brain morphology predicts social intelligence in wild cleaner fish

Within a species, a measure of cleaner fish abundance, as a proxy for both intra- and interspecific social complexity, correlated with forebrain complexity as a function of cognitive performance. The results provide evidence for the hypothesis that social challenges and their solution promote an increase in brain complexity.
