The male hybrid poplar P. alba × P. tremula var. glandulosa, or 84K poplar, is an important model plant due to its excellent properties and ease of transformation. Because of its two subgenomes, alleles in 84K poplar have different transcription bias and expression patterns, making it more complex than traditional model plants. To investigate a more realistic transcriptional profile of its genes, full-length transcriptome was sequenced.
