Trace inorganic species measured above and in the snowpack in Barrow, AK 2014

This work was conducted by Purdue University. We measured iodine-I2, dibromine-Br2, clorine-Cl2, bromine monochloride-BrCl, and ozone-O3 concentrations above the snowpack along within the snowpack interstitial air during Jan. and Feb. of 2014 in Barrow, Alaska. Inorganic halogen measurements were performed using a chemical ionization mass spectrometer. This field deployment was performed to study the production of molecular halogens with the Arctic snowpack.

本研究由普渡大学（Purdue University）开展。2014年1月至2月，研究团队于美国阿拉斯加州巴罗（Barrow）地区，对积雪层上方及积雪间隙空气中的碘单质（I₂）、溴单质（Br₂）、氯气（Cl₂）、一溴化氯（BrCl）与臭氧（O₃）浓度进行了测定。无机卤素的检测采用化学电离质谱仪（chemical ionization mass spectrometer）完成。此次野外部署实验旨在探究北极积雪层中分子卤素的生成机制。
