WEFTH Nexus Data 2000–2019 for Six European Countries (JUNIPER model)

This dataset has been developed to support the JUNIPER model, a Decision Support System (DSS) tool designed to analyse and simulate the interactions within the Water–Energy–Food–Transport–Health-Biodiversity (WEFTHB) nexus. It provides yearly data (2000–2019) for six countries — Greece, Czech Republic, Finland, Spain, Romania, and United Kingdom — harmonised and structured for use within the JUNIPER model. Each country file (Excel .xlsx) contains six thematic sheets: GENERAL DATA: population, GDP, tourism, industry WATER: water use for agriculture, industry, municipal, cooling, desalinaition and water exploitation index ENERGY: consumption by fuel (coal, oil, gas, biofuels, hydro, solar, wind, nuclear) and sector (commercial/public, agriculture, electricity generation, industry, households, transportation, other). FOOD: agricultural and livestock production and land use TRANSPORT: car, lorry, public transport, aviation, rail, energy consumption per km HEALTH: environmental pressures, hospital beds, life expectancy, disorders, healthcare indices Temporal coverage: 2000–2019Geographical coverage: Greece, Czech Republic, Finland, Spain, Romania, United Kingdom Units: Indicators are expressed in SI units or domain-specific measures (e.g. m³, kWh, kg, km, years, per 1000 people). Units are explicitly given in the Excel column headers. Sources: Data compiled from FAOSTAT, Eurostat, IEA, WHO, World Bank, and other international statistical databases, harmonised and adapted for integration into the JUNIPER model.
