Spatial metrics in the analysis of the dynamics of urban landscape patterns and its implications for spatial planning in an emerging metropolis of Mangaluru, India

This dataset contains spatial indicators calculated for Mangaluru built-up area from the Fragstats program in excel sheets and class descriptive files used as input for calculating spatial metrics. The spatial metrics were calculated for 8 directions from the central business district of the study area for the year 1972, 1990, 2000 and 2018. The research intends to comprehend the spatial configurations of the built-up patches in the study area using spatial metrics. The excel tables provide the unstructured output data from the Fragstats program. These tables can be used to get insights into the data out from the program and the class descriptor files can be used as a reference to understand and prepare land use and land cover class descriptors of the respective study area.

本数据集包含两类内容：一是针对芒格洛尔（Mangaluru）建成区，通过Fragstats程序计算得到的空间指数，存储于Excel表格中；二是用于空间度量指标计算的类描述文件。本次空间度量指标的计算覆盖研究区中央商务区（CBD）周边的8个方位，分别针对1972年、1990年、2000年与2018年四个年份开展。本研究旨在通过空间度量指标，厘清研究区内建成区斑块的空间格局特征。上述Excel表格存储了Fragstats程序输出的非结构化数据，使用者可通过这些表格深入解析该程序生成的数据；类描述文件则可作为参考，用于理解并编制对应研究区的土地利用与土地覆盖类描述文档。
