The aim was to evaluate the effect different types of abdominal fat has on NAFLD development. The dataset comes from the NHANES 2017-2018 release and this subset focuses on participants with abdominal fat area (total, visceral and subcutaneous) and level of steatosis. Liver steatosis was assessed using ultrasound controlled attenuation parameter, a noninvasive method for the detection of hepatic steatosis based on transient elastography.
