The Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) of the retail gambling market in Italy decreased sharply in 2020 over the previous year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, Lombardy was the Italian region with the highest GGR in 2020. However, the Gross Gaming Revenue of retail gambling in that region dropped from roughly 3.3 million euros in 2019 to around 1.9 million euros in 2020.
