We identified loss of function OsNOP2 showed ~27% increases grain yield, which acts as an RNA 5-methylcytosine (m5C) demethylase in rice. Knockout of OsNOP2 increased tolerance to heat and salt, the grain yield increased 31% and 36%, rice quality improvement and nitrogen absorption capacity increased.
本研究发现,OsNOP2功能缺失可使水稻籽粒产量提升约27%;该基因在水稻中作为RNA 5-甲基胞嘧啶(m5C)去甲基化酶发挥功能。敲除OsNOP2可增强水稻的耐热性与耐盐性,此时籽粒产量分别提升31%与36%,同时可改善稻米品质并提升氮吸收能力。
