Human mtDNA common deletion induced by Mito-TALEN

Mitochondrial DNA was extracted from U2OS cells treated with a mito-TALEN targeting a sequence adjacent to the 5’-repeat of the common deletion, deletion which involves a 4977bp region flanked by two 13bp repeats. This break triggers the common deletion formation. The goal of this analysis was to sequence the junction of the induced common deletion to confirm the loss of one of the two 13bp repeats.
