Crude Petroleum in Northwest Florida Beach Sand, Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties in Florida, 5-3-2010 to 4-4-2011.

Samples of surf zone beach sand were collected to track the occurrence and degradation of alkane hydrocarbons on beaches of the West Florida Panhandle. Composite samples were air dried and extracted by standard procedures for analysis of alkanes found in the BP MC 252 well oil by GC. Alkanes were only found after beach oiling, and rapidly decreased to background levels.

为追踪佛罗里达狭长地带西部海滩上烷烃类碳氢化合物的赋存与降解情况，本研究采集该区域冲浪带的海滩沙样。混合沙样经风干处理后，依照标准分析流程完成萃取，随后通过气相色谱法（Gas Chromatography，GC）对英国石油公司（BP）MC 252号油井原油中的烷烃类物质开展检测。仅在海滩发生溢油事件后，方可检测到烷烃类物质，且其浓度会快速衰减至环境本底水平。
