NCEI Accession 0115155 includes chemical, discrete sample, physical and profile data collected from NOAA Ship DISCOVERER in the South Pacific Ocean, Southern Oceans (> 60 degrees South) and Tasman Sea from 1996-01-05 to 1996-03-10. These data include CHLOROFLUOROCARBON-11 (CFC-11), CHLOROFLUOROCARBON-113 (CFC-113), CHLOROFLUOROCARBON-12 (CFC-12), Carbon tetrachloride (CCL4), DELTA CARBON-13, DELTA CARBON-14, DISSOLVED INORGANIC CARBON (DIC), DISSOLVED ORGANIC CARBON, DISSOLVED OXYGEN, Dissolved Organic Nitrogen, HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE, NITRATE, NITRITE, Partial pressure (or fugacity) of carbon dioxide - water, Potential temperature (theta), SALINITY, TOTAL ALKALINITY (TA), WATER TEMPERATURE, pH, phosphate and silicate. The instruments used to collect these data include CTD and bottle.
These data were collected by Frank J. Millero of Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, Rik Wanninkhof of US DOC; NOAA; OAR; Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory, Richard A. Feely of US DOC; NOAA; OAR; Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory and Andrew Dickson of University of California - San Diego; Scripps Institution of Oceanography as part of the WOCE_P14SP15S data set. CDIAC associated the following cruise ID(s) with this data set: WOCE_P14SP15S
The World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) was a major component of the World Climate Research Program with the overall goal of better understanding the ocean's role in climate and climatic changes resulting from both natural and anthropogenic causes. The CO2 survey took advantage of the sampling opportunities provided by the WOCE Hydrographic Program (WHP) cruises during this period between 1990 and 1998. The final collection covers approximately 23,000 stations from 94 WOCE cruises.
(United States Department of Commerce, US DOC)、NOAA、海洋与大气研究办公室(Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research, OAR)大西洋海洋学与气象学实验室的Rik Wanninkhof;美国商务部、NOAA、OAR太平洋海洋环境实验室的Richard A. Feely;以及加州大学圣迭戈分校斯克里普斯海洋研究所的Andrew Dickson共同采集,系WOCE_P14SP15S数据集的组成部分。
