Impact of intestinal microbiota on host health and disease

The intestinal microbiome has a range of effects on host health and disease. Many physiological processes are influenced by the intestinal microbiota. In turn, changes in bacterial composition have been suspected to contribute to the development of multiple disorders. This study analyzes how the composition of intestinal microbiota influences the whole organism including host metabolism, physiology and immune system. Here, we compared the composition of intestinal microbiota between gnotobiotic mice associated with the Oligo-Mouse-Microbiota 12 and mice carrying a complex gut microbiota (SPF hygienic status).

肠道微生物组（intestinal microbiome）对宿主健康与疾病具有广泛影响。诸多生理过程均受肠道微生物群（intestinal microbiota）调控；反之，细菌群落组成的改变被推测与多种疾病的发生发展密切相关。本研究旨在解析肠道微生物群组成对宿主整体状态的调控作用，涵盖宿主代谢、生理功能与免疫系统。本研究中，我们对比了定殖有Oligo-Mouse-Microbiota 12菌群的悉生小鼠（gnotobiotic mice）与携带复杂肠道微生物群的SPF级清洁小鼠的肠道微生物群组成差异。
