This dataset provides spatial distribution data of unused land categories in 1km×1km grid-based land use for the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region during the 1980s. The specific subtypes included are sand land, Gobi, saline-alkali land, marsh land, bare land, bare rock and gravel land, and other unused land, all with a spatial resolution of 1km×1km for the aforementioned region in the 1980s. This dataset can offer data support for scientific research in disciplines such as geographic science, environmental science, ecology, socio-economics and population studies, as well as for educational institutions and decision-making bodies of both central and local governments.
