Soybean trade and cultivation in Austria, 1937-2022

Data collected as part of the research project “Soy and Agro-Food Transition: Austria from a Multi-Level Perspective, 1870–2020” (FWF grant DOI: 10.55776/P35531, 2022–2026). The project was led by Principal Investigator Ernst Langthaler (ORCID: 0000-0003-1738-5237) and conducted in collaboration with Maximilian Martsch (ORCID: 0000-0002-2521-4780) and Gabriel Tober (ORCID: 0009-0005-2393-5321). The dataset includes the following files: (a) An Excel file containing data on soybean cultivation in Austria between 1937 and 1958, including cultivated area, yields and number of soybean farmers. (b) An Excel file containing three worksheets with trade data, measured in tonnes, for oil cake (1948–2022), soy cake (1948–2022), and soybeans (1980–2022).
