Primary source and transcription on Hans Memling works in the Iberian Peninsula

Dataset Description for the publication The dataset consists of a digitized primary source material and scholarly transcriptions relating to the reception of works by Hans Memling (c. 1430-1494) in the Iberian Peninsula during the late medieval and early modern periods. The document provide evidence concerning the presence of Memling’s paintings in the Kingdom of Castile and other Iberian territories, as well as references to the collection of Isabella of Castile. The sources originate from Archivo General de Simancas. The dataset includes high-resolution digital scan of archival documents together with scholarly transcriptions prepared from the original manuscripts. The document is written in late medieval Castilian Spanish. The dataset provides transcriptions rendered in modern typographic conventions to facilitate readability and analysis while preserving the original spelling, orthographic forms, abbreviations, and structural features of the texts as closely as possible.
