The synthesis of two new donor–acceptor ferrocenyl derivatives with Meldrum’s acid based nonplanar acceptor substituents is presented. Both compounds are obtained in high yields in a simple reaction protocol under mild conditions using either 1-acetyl- or 1,1′-diacetylferrocene and Meldrum’s acid. Both products have been characterized spectroscopically, by single-crystal X-ray structure analysis, by electrochemical and UV/vis/IR spectroelectrochemical measurements, and by (TD)-DFT calculations. The spectroelectrochemical measurements disclose that the 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione moiety is a moderately strong electron acceptor.

本文报道了两种带有基于麦氏酸(Meldrum’s acid)的非平面受体取代基的新型供体-受体二茂铁衍生物的合成。两种化合物均以1-乙酰基二茂铁或1,1'-二乙酰基二茂铁与麦氏酸为原料,通过简便的反应方案在温和条件下以高产率制得。已通过光谱表征、单晶X射线结构分析、电化学及紫外-可见-红外光谱电化学测试,以及(含时)密度泛函理论((TD)-DFT)计算对两种产物进行了表征。光谱电化学测试表明,2,2-二甲基-1,3-二氧六环-4,6-二酮基团属于中等强度的电子受体。
