CONUS standing timber value, 30 m (2020 USD, TreeMap 2022 anchor) with per-pixel uncertainty

Spatially explicit standing merchantable timber value for the 48 conterminous United States at 30 m resolution (EPSG:5070), in 2020 USD, anchored to TreeMap 2022. Per-pixel value is computed as TreeMap2022 plot-imputed merchantable volume (sawlog VOLCSNET and pulpwood VOLCFNET) multiplied by state-level stumpage prices (species-multiplier weighted and state-normalized to preserve observed state mean price), with federal and private pixels priced separately and composited via the Sass et al. 2020 forest ownership layer (Federal = raster code 5). A companion per-pixel value-uncertainty layer expresses the standard deviation in $/ac from within-species sawlog price dispersion (robust, MAD-based; median ~15%, capped at 30% in heterogeneous hardwood markets). Headline: total CONUS standing value is approximately 700 billion USD (2020). Highest-value states are Oregon, Washington and California; mean value per acre ranges from ~470 USD/ac (Maine) to ~4,150 USD/ac (Washington). Contents: 48 state value Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFFs (value_<ST>_30m_2022_v2.tif), 48 matching uncertainty COGs (value_cv_<ST>_30m_2022.tif), national and per-state zonal summary tables, the stumpage price table, species multipliers, federal price panel, residual-CV table, Faustmann land-expectation-value table, and national choropleths. Caveats: (1) the uncertainty layer reflects within-species sawlog price dispersion and is larger in hardwood markets (capped at 30%); (2) means are tail-inflated in the Pacific Northwest where a small fraction of high-volume coastal/Cascade pixels exceed 20,000 USD/ac, so medians are more robust for headline comparisons; (3) median value is zero across large areas of non-merchantable woodland (e.g., Texas, New Mexico); (4) the federal stumpage panel is FY2008-2012 (deflated to 2020 USD).
