LGN2024 is a grid file that shows Dutch land use in 2024 with a spatial resolution of 5m. The legend consists of 51 land use classes and is comparable with LGN2021, LGN2022 and LGN2023. However, some LGN classes changed their definition slightly due to adaptations in the production methodology.<br>LGN2024 is distinguishing the main agricultural crops, forest, water, nature and urban classes. LGN2024 is a continuation of LGN2021, LGN2022 and LGN2023. For LGN2022 compared to LGN2021 some small modifications were made. The most important ones are: - Use of OSM and Top10NL for mapping solar parks- Introduction of small linear water elements- Subdivision of BNL class 200 'Overig grondgebruik' into 200, 220 'Basaltblokken en steenglooiingen and 230 'bebouwd gebied'- Introduction of MRT rules for new nature areas- New dataset 'Agrarisch Natuur- en Landschapsbeheer (ANLb 030 verantwoordingsaanvraag (versie februari 2023)' to define 'Natuurlijk beheerde agrarische graslanden'.- New way to produce the LGN classes 251, 252 and 252.<br>Next to these modifications applied for LGN2022 an additional small set of adaptations were made for LGN2023. The most important ones are:- Next to introduction of small linear water elements in LGN2022 (ditches), small water courses (0.5-3m) in swamp and salt marshes are taken up in LGN2023- Small corrections 'Hoogveen', 'Zoet/zout water' and 'Kwelder' masks- Small adaptations in the Multi Reclass Tool (MRT)- Skipping of postprocessing step for classes 251, 252 and 253 See also 'Factsheet productie LGN2023' for more details.<br>LGN2024 is comparable with the specifications of LGN2023. Main differences are a further improvement of the 'Kwelder' and 'Zoet/zout' masks and the recoding of BRP class 331 ("Grasland, natuurlijk. Met landbouwactiviteiten" naar LGN klasse 45 " Natuurlijk beheerde agrarische graslanden" in stead of LGN class 1 "Agrarisch gras" (LGN2022, LGN2023).<br>The following files were used to create LGN2024: Top10NL (version November 2024), Basis Registratie Percelen 2024 (BRP2024), Basiskaart Natuur en Landschap 2024 (BNL2024), Basisregistratie Adressen en Gebouwen (BAG February 2025), Nieuw Bestand BodemGebruik 2020 (NBBG2020 versie oktober 2024), Beheertypen IMNa (IMNa versie januari 2025), Agrarisch Natuur- en Landschapsbeheer (ANLb 030 verantwoordingsaanvraag 2024 (versie 12 november 2024)) and the Algemeen Hoogtemodel Nederland (AHN4/5). In addition satellite images (particularly Sentinel-2) and aerial photos from 2024 have been used in the classification of the nature area. <br>The dataset is public since July, 22nd 2025 which is made possible by WOT Natuur & Milieu, Het Waterschapshuis, Interprovinciaal Overleg, RIVM and Wageningen Environmental Research.
