Chronically activated JAK/STAT signaling leads to several lung diseases, including lung cancer, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. We used the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster to elucidate the molecular processes which transform elevated JAK/STAT signaling in airway epithelial cells into pathology. Overall design: We performed gene expression profiling analysis using data obtained from RNA-seq of 2 different tracheal tissues of Drosophila 3rd instar larvae at one time point.
