Muscle biopsies taken from vastus lateralis muscle of 15 men and 15 women after 3 days of standardized diet and activity to examine effects of sex and age Subjects were either young adults (7 men and 7 women, 20-29 yr old) or older (8 men and 8 women, 65-75 yr old) Affymetrix U133A and U133B arrays were scanned both before (S1) and after (S2) antibody enhancement. This file has U133A S1 data. Effects of age were computed for men and women separately with an alternative method previously and data submitted as GSE362 (men) and GSE674 (women). 本数据集采集了15名男性与15名女性在遵循3天标准化饮食与活动方案后获取的股外侧肌（vastus lateralis）肌肉活检样本，以探究性别与年龄的影响。受试者分为青年成人组（7名男性、7名女性，年龄20~29岁）与老年组（8名男性、8名女性，年龄65~75岁）。采用Affymetrix U133A与U133B基因芯片阵列，分别在抗体增强处理前（S1阶段）与处理后（S2阶段）进行扫描；本文件包含U133A芯片的S1阶段数据。此前已采用替代方法分别针对男性与女性群体计算年龄效应，相关数据分别以GSE362（男性）与GSE674（女性）的形式提交。关键词：性别差异、年龄相关差异。整体实验设计：为每位受试者生成基因表达谱，共计30组表达谱（15组男性样本、15组女性样本，其中14组为青年样本、16组为老年样本）
