Structure presence/absence was treated as a fixed variable, while site (block) was designated as a random variable. N = 60 samples (6 each per 10 sites) V.p. = Manila clam (Venerupis philippinarum). Average (±standard error) of raw (untransformed) variables in the presence and absence of hard structure are shown; bold indicates significant difference between the presence and absence of structure.
