Poecilia formosa Transcriptome or Gene expression

The Amazon molly, Poecilia formosa (Teleostei: Poeciliinae) is an unisexual, all-female species. It evolved through the hybridisation of two closely related sexual species and exhibits clonal reproduction by sperm dependent parthenogenesis (or gynogenesis). Our interest is focussed on genomic and transcriptomic features of this unusual species, like the genomic consequences of the absence of meiosis for many generations.

亚马逊花鳉（Poecilia formosa，隶属于硬骨鱼纲（Teleostei）花鳉亚科（Poeciliinae））是一种单性全雌性物种。它由两个亲缘关系密切的有性物种杂交演化而来，并通过依赖精子的孤雌生殖（parthenogenesis，又称雌核发育（gynogenesis））实现克隆繁殖。本研究聚焦于这一特殊物种的基因组与转录组特征，例如多代缺失减数分裂（meiosis）所带来的基因组层面影响。
