CERN-LHC. The normalized differential cross section for top quark pair (ttbar) production is measured in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV at the CERN LHC using the CMS detector in data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 inverse femtobarns. The measurements are performed in the lepton+jets (e/mu+jets) and in the dilepton (e e, mu mu, and e mu) decay channels. The ttbar cross section is measured as a function of the kinematic properties of the charged leptons, the jets associated to b quarks, the top quarks, and the ttbar system. The data are compared with several predictions from perturbative QCD up to approximate next-to-next-to-leading-order precision. No significant deviations are observed relative to the standard model predictions.
本数据集基于欧洲核子研究中心大型强子对撞机(CERN-LHC)的质子-质子(pp)对撞实验展开,实验质心系能量为8 TeV,采用紧凑型缪子线圈探测器(Compact Muon Solenoid, CMS)采集了对应积分亮度为19.7反飞靶的实验数据,以此测定顶夸克对(top quark pair, ttbar)产生的归一化微分截面。测量分别在轻子+喷注(e/μ+喷注)衰变道与双轻子(电子对、缪子对及电子-缪子对)衰变道中开展,顶夸克对截面的测定以带电轻子、b夸克关联喷注、顶夸克以及顶夸克对系统的运动学特性为函数变量。将实验数据与微扰量子色动力学(perturbative QCD, pQCD)框架下精度近似为次次领头阶(next-to-next-to-leading-order, NNLO)的若干理论预言进行对比后发现,实验结果与标准模型(Standard Model)预言无显著偏差。
