Photograph of Charlotta Bass, seated, left, visitiing Tbilisi, Georgia, then part of the U.S.S.R., on her trip to Europe in 1950. While in Tbilisi, Bass went to the Palace of Fine Arts, where she heard children perform native songs and dances. In her memoirs, Bass described Tbilisi as "the Garden Spot of the Soviet Union."
