WATER TEMPERATURE and other data from NICHOLSON in the Caribbean Sea and NW Atlantic from 1989-04-14 to 1989-12-07 (NODC Accession 9100202)

The data in this accession were collected in Caribbean Sea and NW Atlantic (limit-40 W) from ship NICHOLSON between April 14, 1989 to December 7, 1989. The real time data of water temperature at varying depth bathythermograph (XBT) was recorded in stripcharts by the US Navy. Eighty two stripcharts and radio logs were submitted to NODC. The XBT data from these stripcharts have been digitized and are present in the current NODC data storage system in C116 file format.

本归档数据集采集于加勒比海及以西经40°为界的西北大西洋海域，采集工作由"尼科尔森"号科考船于1989年4月14日至1989年12月7日期间开展。美国海军使用投弃式温深计（Expendable Bathythermograph，XBT）测得不同深度的实时海水温度数据，并通过带状记录纸完成存档。共计82份带状记录纸与无线电通讯日志被提交至国家海洋数据中心（National Oceanographic Data Center，NODC）。从上述带状记录纸中提取的XBT数据已完成数字化处理，当前以C116文件格式存储于NODC现有数据存储系统内。
