The marine invertebrate-associated microbiome has garnered significant interest in recent years due to its wealth of novel genes that can be explored for biomining. Actinomycetes are particularly well known for their ability to produce secondary metabolites. By combining genomics with untargeted data-dependent mass spectrometry (MS) and molecular networking, we characterized the secreted metabolome of Streptomyces sp. In our previous study, we isolated and a strain of Streptomyces, designated as strain 34, from Chromodoris quadricolor, which was collected by SCUBA diving in the Red Sea near El Tor in the Gulf of Suez, Egypt. This strain exhibits desirable traits, antimicrobial and antitumor activities, and contains several biosynthetic gene clusters, including polyketide synthase (PKS) and non-ribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) gene clusters. In the present study, the Streptomyces isolate was identified as Streptomyces tunisiensis GCF 039538125

近年来,海洋无脊椎动物相关微生物组(marine invertebrate-associated microbiome)因其蕴藏大量可用于生物采矿(biomining)的新型基因,而受到学界广泛关注。放线菌(Actinomycetes)因其合成次生代谢产物的能力而尤为知名。本研究结合基因组学、非靶向数据依赖性质谱(mass spectrometry, MS)与分子网络技术,对链霉菌属(Streptomyces sp.)菌株的分泌代谢组进行了表征。在既往研究中,我们从埃及苏伊士湾托尔角附近红海海域通过水肺潜水(SCUBA diving)采集的多彩海牛(Chromodoris quadricolor)体内分离得到一株链霉菌,命名为菌株34。该菌株具备抗菌、抗肿瘤等优良特性,且携带多种生物合成基因簇,包括聚酮合酶(polyketide synthase, PKS)基因簇与非核糖体肽合成酶(non-ribosomal peptide synthetase, NRPS)基因簇。本研究中,经鉴定该分离得到的链霉菌为突尼斯链霉菌(Streptomyces tunisiensis)GCF 039538125。
