早在20世纪60年代初,我国园艺工作者就开始从我国台湾及泰国、新加坡和美国等地引进卡特兰品种进行研究和繁殖,但因卡特兰的种类繁多,分类背景复杂,不同种类开花习性和栽培管理条件差异巨大,不同遗传背景的品种其育种表现差强人意,我国卡特兰的科研与生产长期停滞不前。 建立了我国唯一的、最大的卡特兰属类种质资源圃,引进了优良种质资源86个品种600余份 首次梳理了卡特兰属类的分类系统,为卡特兰在国内的推广起到了正本清源的作用 国内首次系统研究了卡特兰的培育技术,系统研究了卡特兰的病虫害防治,制定了卡特兰标准栽培技术规范,首次研究了卡特兰的花芽分化的规律和时期,成功筛选出适合无菌播种的培养基 国内首次总结了卡特兰的育种遗传规律:总结了亲本选择要求、亲本配对原则、子代筛选规律、花色遗传特点、花型育种要求、特型花和多花性育种规律、植株矮肥化育种等工作 创新地拓展了卡特兰的应用:通过创新卡特兰应用方法,研究植株的整理和花朵的整形,首创礼盆花的制作,为卡特兰的开发和利用拓展了方向。 出版我国首部卡特兰专著《卡特兰》。

As early as the early 1960s, Chinese horticulturists began introducing Cattleya varieties from Taiwan (China), Thailand, Singapore, the United States and other regions for research and propagation. However, due to the large number of Cattleya species, complex taxonomic backgrounds, huge differences in flowering habits and cultivation management conditions among different species, and unsatisfactory breeding performance of varieties with different genetic backgrounds, the research, production and development of Cattleya in China remained stagnant for a long time. We have established the only and largest Cattleya germplasm repository in China, introducing more than 600 accessions of 86 excellent germplasm varieties. For the first time, we sorted out the taxonomic system of the Cattleya genus, which played a fundamental role in clarifying the origin and standardizing the promotion of Cattleya in China. For the first time in China, we conducted systematic research on Cattleya cultivation techniques and pest and disease control, formulated standard technical specifications for Cattleya cultivation, studied the rules and periods of Cattleya flower bud differentiation for the first time, and successfully screened out a medium suitable for aseptic sowing. For the first time in China, we summarized the breeding and genetic rules of Cattleya, including the requirements for parental selection, principles of parental matching, rules of progeny screening, genetic characteristics of flower color, requirements for flower type breeding, breeding rules of special-shaped flowers and multi-flower traits, and breeding of dwarf and robust plants. We innovatively expanded the application of Cattleya: by innovating application methods, researching plant tidying and flower shaping, we pioneered the production of potted ceremonial flowers, which expanded the direction for the development and utilization of Cattleya. We published the first monograph on Cattleya in China titled *Cattleya*.
