Mitochondrial NAT10 Play a Vital Role in Carcinogenesis Via Acetylation

NAT10 is a vital acetyltransferase and mainly localizes in nucleus. Currently, the oncogenic function of nuclear and membranous NAT10 are clear. However, whether NAT10 functions in mitochondrial remains unknown. Here, we found that NAT10 is also localized in mitochondrial and catalyze the acetylaion of multiple enzymes in mitochondrial. Therefore, the mitochondrial NAT10 is a vital therapeutic target for cancer.

NAT10是一种关键的乙酰转移酶（acetyltransferase），主要定位于细胞核中。目前，细胞核及膜定位NAT10的致癌功能已明确。然而，NAT10是否在线粒体中发挥作用仍不明确。本研究发现，NAT10同样定位于线粒体，并催化线粒体中多种酶的乙酰化。因此，线粒体中的NAT10是癌症治疗的关键靶点。
