Quantitative dataset on safety-seeking behaviours in older crime victims: data from the Person-Reported Safety-Seeking Behavior Measure (PRSBM)

Quantitative dataset for the study: <i>Safety-Seeking Behaviors and Psychological Distress in Older Victims of Community-Crime: A Cross-Sectional Study Using a Novel Person-Reported Measure</i><br>This dataset is for the quantitative component of the Person-Reported Safety-Seeking Behaviour Measure (PRSBM). Older victims of community crime were asked whether they engaged in six types of behaviours since the crime: (checking, reassurance-seeking, rumination, avoidance, rituals, hypervigilance). If so, they were asked to describe what their behaviour was, rate how frequently they engaged in the behaviour, and how much of change it was since the crime.The data on behaviour frequency and change are reported in this dataset, along with the data used to adjust for gender, age and crime type. The qualitative data on self-described behaviours on the PRSBM is available in the corresponding qualitative dataset.

本数据集为研究《社区犯罪老年受害者的安全寻求行为与心理困扰：基于新型自我报告量表的横断面研究》的量化组成部分，依托自我报告安全寻求行为量表（Person-Reported Safety-Seeking Behaviour Measure，PRSBM）构建。研究人员向社区犯罪老年受害者询问了其案发后是否存在六类行为：反复检查、寻求安心、反刍思维、回避行为、仪式化动作及过度警觉。若受访者存在上述行为，则需描述具体行为表现、评估行为发生频率，以及该行为自案发以来的变化程度。本数据集收录了行为频率与行为变化的相关数据，同时包含用于校正性别、年龄与犯罪类型的协变量数据。PRSBM中受访者自我描述行为的质性数据，可在对应的质性数据集中获取。
