Current meter observations, Northeast Channel and adjacent sites, Georges Bank, 1993-1999, GLOBEC; and Georges Bank Northeast Peak ADCP 1996-1999 data

Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) data were collected from 1996 to 1999 from a long-term moored array on the Northeast Peak of Georges Bank. ADCP velocity profiles were obtained with 1-m vertical resolution using a 300 kHz Workhorse ADCP unit. mounted in a downward looking configuration in an in-line frame connected to the moored buoy.
Current meter moorings were deployed in the areas of northeastern Georges Bank,
Northeast Channel, and Scotian Shelf. Mooring sites were occupied continuously
for the period: October 1993 to May 1997 and November 1998 to September 1999.
The observations were collected by Canada's Bedford Institute of Oceanography(BIO) as a contributing partner to GLOBEC. The data are reported as hourly values of temperature, salinity, current speed and direction. Except for the data gap (97 - 98), some sites and depths have data coverage for the entire
period.
