This dataset, contributed by Stylianos Paraschiakos, Beekman M. (Marian), Knobbe A. (Arno), Cachucho R. (Ricardo), and Slagboom P. (Eline), contains wearable sensor-based physical activity and indirect calorimetry data from 35 healthy older adults aged 60 years or older, including 14 females and 21 males. Data were collected across multiple body positions using various devices: 3 GeneActives accelerometers worn on the ankle, wrist, and chest, 1 Equivital sensor placed on the chest, and COSMED devices equipped with bra and belt modules. The 35 participants completed a 1.5-hour protocol consisting of 16 daily living activities in a semi-laboratory setting. These activities cover indoor and outdoor tasks with diverse types and rhythms, including low-intensity movements such as lying down and sitting, moderate-intensity tasks like standing and household activities, and high-intensity exercises such as walking and cycling. Additionally, some activities can be defined with varying levels of granularity. This study was conducted at LUMC between February and May 2015.
