Tetragenococcus muriaticus 3MR10-3 was isolated from Thai fish sauce. This bacterial strain can grow in a high-salt environment and is tolerant to 18% NaCl or greater. It could play a significant role in flavor formation during fermentation. This study gives the first picture of the T. muriaticus draft genome and provides valuable insights into salt and protein-rich adaptation of this halophilic bacterium.
