This data pertains to a PhD project investigating the role of calcium-activated potassium channels and a subfamily of voltage-gated potassium channels (Kv7) in the regulation of colonic afferent activity. Fig 1 shows the expression of transcripts encoding channel subunits (derived from publicly-available RNAseq dataset). Figs 2-5 shows electrophysiological data from experiments in which the activity of the lumbar splanchnic nerve was recorded while chemical or mechanical stimuli were applied to the colon. Fig 6 shows analysis of experiments in which the intraluminal pressure of the colon was recorded. All data sheets are labelled to show the corresponding figure panel.
