This data set is gathered from a survey about EDP/IT in school, which was carried through by Statistics Norway (SSB) on behalf of the Ministry of Church, Education and Research (now Ministry of Education and Research). The background for the survey was that the parliament's Church, Education and Research Committee pointed out that it was important to gather knowledge about the usage of EDP in schools.
In order to ensure as wide coverage of EDP usage in schools, the survey was divided in four partial surveys.
Part A:
Aim: To gather knowledge about the EDP-situation in schools in terms of amount and quality of the equipment (hardware and software), usage of the equipment in education situations in different subjects and studies, as well as the school's future plans.
Sample: From the survey "Tilstandsundersøkelse blant i utvalgte grunn- og videregående skoler" (Condition survey among a sample of elementary- and high schools).
Part B1:
Aim: To gather knowledge about the pupils understanding of the EDP-situation at school, access and usage of EDP both at home and at school.
Sample: From the survey "Brukerundersøkelse blant et utvalg elever i grunnskolens ungdomstrinn og i videregåendeskole" (User survey among a sample of samples of pupils in junior high- and high school).
Part B2:
Aim: To gather knowledge about understandings of the EDP-situation at the school, access and usage of EDP both at home and at school.
Sample: From the survey "Brukerundersøkelse blant et utvalg studenter på universiteter og høgskoler" (User survey among a sample of students at universities and collages).
Part C:
Aim: To gather knowledge about the teachers knowledge about the EDP-situation at school, access and usage of EDP both at home and at school.
Sample: From the survey "Brukerundersøkelse blant et utvalg av lærere i grunn- og videregående skoler" (User survey among a sample of teachers in elementary- and high schools).
