OsDERF8 regulates rice leaf senescence

Plant leaf senescence is regulated by complicated signaling network involving endogenous and environmental factors. Appropriate leaf senescence processing plays important roles in plant growth and stress response. The regulatory mechanism of leaf senescence has been widely investigated but still remains elusive. Here we identified the rice transcription factor OsDERF8 as the positive regulator of leaf senescence.

植物叶片衰老受包含内源与环境因子在内的复杂信号网络调控。适度的叶片衰老进程对植物生长与胁迫响应发挥重要作用。尽管叶片衰老的调控机制已得到广泛研究，但目前仍未完全明晰。本研究鉴定到水稻转录因子（transcription factor）OsDERF8作为叶片衰老的正向调控因子。
